Usman Nurmagomedov named the strongest quality of Khabib and Islam Makhachev

Reigning Bellator lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov named the main fighting quality he tries to adopt from his teammates Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev.

“We are all different,” the Russian said in an interview with SHAK MMA. “Khabib prefers to press, Islam also uses pressing, but he acts more smart, not so straightforward. I hope I have it all.”

“The main thing I’m trying to learn from them is mental toughness. They never give up. I want to have the same mentality. You can learn everything else, technique, striking, but if you’re weak mentally, none of it will work.”

The Bellator champion is convinced that his cousin Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the three greatest athletes of all time.

“It’s Cristiano Ronaldo, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Jon Jones,” Nurmagomedov said.

In less than 24 hours, Usman Nurmagomedov will headline Bellator 300 in San Diego, and if he defeats American Brent Primus, he will advance to the Bellator lightweight grand prix finals, where he will face the winner of the fight between Alexander Shabliyy and Patricky Freire.
