Yaroslav Amosov about big sport

Mixed martial arts fighter Yaroslav Amosov spoke about how he came to big sport, as well as about friendship, the power of discipline, self-confidence and attitude to defeat.

“At the age of 15, I started practicing combat sambo. Every guy at that age wants to be able to protect himself and his family. Frankly, it was a strong desire to “run away from the street” that brought me to the sport. More precisely, escape from it. I remember one day I came home and told my stepfather that I wanted to be able to fight. Then he advised me the hall of the Kiev club “Hermes”. This is where I train to this day.”

“Since the training took place in Kiev, I had to go to the capital from Irpen several times a week. At that time, the road could take one and a half to two hours only in one direction. One road. One bus. You get stuck in a traffic jam and stand after a workout for several hours tired and hungry.

After graduating from school, I entered the Irpin Tax Academy and received a law degree. At that time, I did not think that my passion for sports would develop into something more professional. However, until I signed a contract with the American mixed martial arts organization Bellator, I competed without promotion, so everything was in the red.

“Everyone has their own choice and everyone lives as they want. I have already made my choice. I see a goal and I want to move towards it. You see, I am one of those people who are motivated by the result, not its absence. If I succeed in something, I will do my best to be the best.”
