Undefeated UFC heavyweight suspended for two years

Undefeated heavyweight Hamdi Abdelwahab, who made his successful debut under the banner of the strongest league in the world last July, will return to the octagon no earlier than the summer of 2024.

The 30-year-old Egyptian has agreed to accept a two-year ban for violating UFC anti-doping policy, the US Anti-Doping Agency officially announced. According to a USADA statement, the anabolic steroid methenolone was found in two doping samples of the fighter.

On July 30 at UFC 277 in Dallas, Hamdi Abdelwahab scored his sixth pro win by split decision over Dontal Mays. At the moment, the result of the fight has been canceled, and the fight itself has been declared invalid.

Before making his debut in the UFC, the Egyptian heavyweight won five victories, knocking out all his opponents.
