Jessica Andrade won with submissions and one-punch knockouts. But on Saturday, UFC Vegas 52, she pulled off a feat that no other UFC fighter has ever achieved.
“Bate Esteca” defeated Amanda Lemos by a standing-arm-triangle submission. This was the fight’s main event at UFC Vegas 52. It marked the debut of the technique in UFC history. Andrade was awarded one of the “Performance of the Night” bonuses as well as an additional $50,000. for her historic finish. Amanda Nunes tied Andrade for most UFC victories (14) of a female fighter.
The other “Performance of the Night” went to Claudio Puelles, who defeated Clay Guida by kneebar submission in the co-main event. It was the third time Puelles has won by kneebar and he is the only UFC fighter to have more than one win by that technique.
Dwight Grant and Sergey Khandozhko, both welterweights, won the UFC Vegas 52 “Fight of the Night”. The two battled back and forth with both scoring knockdowns before Khandozhko finished with a flurry in Round 2.
