UFC president’s reaction to Bellator sale

UFC president, Dana White, responded to a question about whether the world’s strongest league wants to buy the Bellator MMA organization, which is rumored to change ownership before the end of the year.

“And why? Who on this planet would even think of buying Bellator?” the UFC executive said at a press conference in Las Vegas. “If we’re talking about business and making good decisions, buying Bellator would be one of the worst things imaginable. I don’t understand why anyone would buy Bellator – let’s sit back and see how it plays out. It’s even interesting.”

That said, White was surprised when he learned that the PFL league was planning to buy Bellator for $500 million dollars.

“$500 million dollars for Bellator? That’s amazing. Sounds like a rip-off. Sounds like a uniformed robbery. It’s fucking stupid.”

The Bellator MMA league is an asset of Paramount Global, which, if the organization is sold, received some stake in the PFL league along with cash. The parties reportedly resumed talks after the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund invested $100 million in the PFL league through its new sports investment arm SRJ Sports Investments.
