UFC President Confirms Stipe Miocic's Status

UFC President Dana White has confirmed that former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic will challenge the winner of the title showdown between Jon Jones and Cyril Gun for the vacant heavyweight belt at UFC 285 in Las Vegas.

“Yes, Stipe is definitely next in line for a title fight,” the head of the organization told reporters in Las Vegas. “Whoever wins this fight, his next opponent will be Stipe”

According to Miocic, the UFC plans to hold this fight as part of the annual International Fight Week, which is traditionally hosted in Las Vegas in July.

Stipe Miocic, 40, lost the UFC heavyweight championship belt in March 2021 to Francis Ngannou by knockout in the second round and has not returned to the octagon since.
