UFC middleweight broke Francis Ngannou’s longstanding record

UFC middleweight Joe Pifer, who has reeled off three straight early victories in the organization, broke the record for punching power held by former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou since 2017.

The relevant measurements were taken at the UFC Institute, as commentator Joe Rogan discussed the event with welterweight Sean Brady on another edition of his podcast.

“This motherf***er hits so hard,” Rogan stated. “We have to tell everybody that he broke Francis Ngannou’s record on the punching power machine. They didn’t want to count him out, and I don’t understand why?”

“I don’t know,” Brady replied. “The guy who did the measuring said there was something weird going on with the car. Pifer did it three times. He broke the record three times in a row.”

“You mean an employee of the institute just couldn’t believe his eyes?” said Rogan with a laugh.

Joe Pifer, 27, will step into his next fight on Feb. 10 at UFC Fight Night 236 in Las Vegas as the event’s headliner, and the American will face 35-year-old Jack Hermansson of Sweden.
