UFC Fight Night 240 tournament has lost its main event

Three weeks before the event, the UFC Fight Night 240 tournament, which was supposed to be headlined by top middleweights Marvin Vettori and Brendan Allen, has been left without a main event.

Informed sources close to the situation report that the Italian has withdrawn from the fight due to injury, while the American fighter is unlikely to remain in the lineup.

According to Allen, he expects to be assigned one of the division’s top fighters as his opponent.

“I was ready for anything! I’m now No. 5 in the world, so who above me is going to fight anytime soon?” wrote Allen on social media, noting Jared Cannonier, Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya.

There is no information yet on the nature of Marvin Vettori’s injury and the timing of his return to the octagon.

UFC Fight Night 240 will take place on April 6 in Las Vegas, and at the moment its second most important event is a women’s fight between Norma Dumont and Germaine de Randamie.
