UFC Fight Night 223 gets a new main event

The bantamweight bout between Mackenzie Dern and Angela Hill will take place a week later than expected and will be a five-round fight.

Representatives of the strongest league in the world have officially announced that the women’s fight, which was supposed to take place on May 13 at UFC on ABC 4 in Charlotte, is moving to the UFC Fight Night 223 tournament card and becoming its main event.

UFC Fight Night 223, set to take place on May 20 in Las Vegas, needed a new main event after Irene Aldana replaced an injured Julianna Peña against Amanda Nunes and Mexican opponent Raquel Pennington was named a substitute for the title fight.

Mackenzie Dern and Angela Hill are currently ranked seventh and fourteenth in the UFC’s first flyweight division, respectively.
