Two weeks after Khabib Nurmagomedov ruled out the possibility of resuming his professional career, the undefeated Russian’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, has announced that if he returns, he could become a triple UFC champion by the end of this year.
“If we were to fantasize about Khabib’s return, he would become the middleweight champion in April, become the featherweight champion in July, and take the welterweight belt in December,” Abdelaziz wrote on social media. “Against Alex Pereira, Israel Adesanya and Leon Edwards. I truly believe that stylistically, he’s a worst nightmare for these guys.”
Alex Pereira and Leon Edwards are the current UFC champions, while Israel Adesanya is rumored to only attempt to reclaim his middleweight championship belt in April against Dricus Du Plessis.
Earlier, the Russian had to personally deny information that he had begun preparations for the UFC 300 anniversary tournament, in which he was allegedly going to challenge Edwards, who holds the welterweight title.
