UFC 298 weigh-in results: one fight canceled

Anaheim hosted the official weigh-in ceremony for UFC 298, the main event of which will be a featherweight title fight between the division’s reigning champion, Alexander Volkanovski, and No. 3 ranked Elijah Topuria.

Both headliners had no trouble getting within the championship limit of their weight class, showing 65.5 kg (144.5 lbs) each.

The only Russian participant of the numbered event, middleweight Roman Kopylov, who opens the main card of the tournament with his bout, successfully managed the weightlifting, recording 83.9 kg (185 lbs.). His opponent, American Anthony Hernandez, made 84.1 kg (185.5 lbs.).

A few minutes before the weigh-in, officials of the organization announced that the heavyweight fight between Marcos Rogerio de Lima and Justin Tafa, announced as part of the preliminary card of the tournament, was canceled due to an injury to the latter.
