UFC 279 comment team: Joe Rogan is back for Khamzat Chimiev vs. Nate Diaz

Joe Rogan will return to the broadcast booth to call the highly anticipated welterweight bout between Khamzat Chimaev and Nate Diaz.

Multiple sources with information about the promotion’s plans confirmed that Rogan would join Jon Anik, former champion in two-divisions Daniel Cormier and other fighters on headsets at UFC 279,. The event takes place on Saturday at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.

The trio will be calling the action together for a fourth time ever since UFC 276 July. This is three weeks after the dramatic ending of UFC 278’s main event where Leon Edwards won the title as welterweight with a knockout against Kamaru Uman in round 5.

Additionally, Megan Olivi will serve as the roving reporter for the PPV event, which will be capped off by the scheduled five-round fight between Chimaev and Diaz, who will be competing in the final fight of his UFC contract.

UFC 279 at 5:00 p.m. ET with prelims streaming on ESPN+ and UFC Fight Pass before shifting over to ESPNEWS for the 8 p.m. ET preliminary slate. The main card will air at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN+ pay-per-view in the U.S.
