Tyson’s team made a statement about the fight with Emelianenko

Fedor Emelianenko’s statement about his upcoming boxing match against Mike Tyson is not true.

This was reported by well-known sports columnist Chisanga Malata with reference to representatives of the American’s team.

“Contrary to reports, Mike Tyson is not negotiating a boxing match with MMA icon Fedor Emelianenko in Saudi Arabia,” the reporter wrote. “His reps told me today, ‘That’s a lie, Mike Tyson hasn’t talked to anyone in his camp about it. He has no interest in a fight with Emelianenko now or in the future'”

Earlier, the legendary Russian heavyweight reported that his representatives held several rounds of talks with Mike Tyson’s representatives, the outcome of which was a mutual agreement between the fighters to hold a boxing match in Saudi Arabia. According to the version of “The Last Emperor”, in the near future, the issue of financing the fight should be resolved, after which it will be announced officially.

Fedor Emelianenko, 47, made an unsuccessful attempt to take the Bellator heavyweight title from Ryan Bader last February, losing to the American by technical knockout in the first round, after which he announced his retirement.

Mike Tyson, 57, resumed his career in November 2020 after a fifteen-year hiatus, drawing an exhibition boxing match against 54-year-old Roy Jones, Jr.
