Reigning WBC heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury, who defeated Francis Ngannou by controversial split decision three weeks ago, has been paid around fifty million dollars for his fight with the former UFC titleholder.
This was announced by the British boxer at a press conference in London, answering a journalist’s question about how quickly he stopped thinking about a fight with “The Predator”.
“Are you stupid or what? I just got paid about 50 million and I’m thinking about buying a super yacht, an airplane and real estate. I can’t believe you’re asking these questions,” the “Gypsy King” stated.
On October 28, Francis Ngannou gave a competitive fight to Tyson Fury, not only standing up to the world champion for all ten rounds, but also knocking him down in the third three minutes.
After that the organizers had to postpone the fight for the title of absolute world champion between Tyson Fury and Alexander Usik, which will be held on February 17, and Francis Ngannou took the tenth place in the official ranking of heavyweights WBC, and theoretically, in the rematch will be able to claim the championship belt, if the Briton manages to keep it.
The former UFC heavyweight champion was reportedly paid at least ten million dollars for his boxing debut.
