UFC 260 co-main event

The fight will take place on Sunday, March 28. Estimated start of the battle at 06:30 Kyiv time. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.

The UFC has something special in store for its fans this Sunday. In Las Vegas, Nevada, at its home UFC Apex, the promotion will host UFC 260 PPV, which will feature a massive heavyweight title rematch between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou.

In the co-main event, former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley will be the test for contender fighter Vicente Luque.

The fight was upgraded to a co-main event after UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski tested positive for COVID-19 and his bout against Brian Ortega at UFC 260 was cancelled.

Woodley’s best years are long gone. The 38-year-old veteran is on the verge of being fired from the organization on a three-game losing streak. The black streak began two years ago when Kamaru Usman defeated Woodley in a dominating manner by a judicial decision, who took away the champion belt from Woodley. Then in May 2020, followed by a one-sided defeat on points from Gilbert Burns, and in September, Woodley failed to show anything in the fight against Colby Covington and lost by technical knockout due to a damaged rib in the fifth round.

Luke, on the other hand, is in full bloom. He has won 8 (6 by KO) of his last 9 UFC fights. Last year, he scored two stoppage victories, stopping Nico Price by TKO and knocking out Randy Brown. Over the past four years, the only one who managed to defeat Vicente was Stephen Thompson, who in 2019 at UFC 244 in a spectacular fight outpointed the Silent Assassin on points.

Prediction for the fight

Woodley is a great wrestler with a powerful one-shot. Aside from his age, his main weakness in recent fights was his lack of motivation. His opponent bets on the stand and often knocks out opponents, while having good grappling abilities.

Luque can do the same thing to Woodley as Burns – to kill in the rack. If at the beginning of the fight a fresh Woodley can be dangerous in takedowns and stalls, then over time he will have less strength left, and Luke will have all the trump cards in his hands.

We predict that Woodley’s stamina will not let him down this time, despite the opponent’s punching abilities.
