Tszyu is already talking about the opening defense, he named the opponent’s name: “It’s 100%”

WBO mandatory challenger Australian junior middleweight fighter Tim Tszyu (21-0, 15 KOs) reacted to the arguments of Russian Bakhram Murtazaliev (20-0, 15 KOs), who intends to get ahead of him and fight for all division titles with American Jermell Charlo ( 35-1-1, 19 KOs).

Earlier it was already reported that Charlo and Tszyu agreed to fight. But a little later, Murtazaliev’s lawyer announced that the champion had signed a document stating that he would hold the debut defense of all belts against a Chechen boxer or give up the IBF belt.

Tszyu decided to effectively destroy everything and
promised 100%, which will give Murtazaliev a fight immediately after he beats Charlo: “If it works out, I would like to fight at the new football stadium in Sydney. But if you have to fight in America, then I don’t see any problems in this. I’m ready to fight Charlo on his territory without any problems. And it doesn’t matter to me that he is in division number 1, because when you enter the ring, then all this loses its meaning – there is only you and your opponent. Familiar? Friends? Tribune support? I don’t care about all that. I understand Charlo and his unwillingness to fight the obscure Murtazaliev – people want only those fights from the champion that make some sense.

It is not a fact that IBF mandatory challenger Murtazaliev will receive permission from boxing organizations to fight for the title – Russian athletes are suspended from championship fights due to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, which began in February this year with attempts to “take Kyiv in three days”.

Recently, boxers from Russia have held title fights under the flags of other countries: light heavyweight Dmitry Bivol represented Kyrgyzstan, and his division colleague Artur Beterbiev fought under the flag of Canada. It is possible that Murtazaliev would agree to play for Kazakhstan – he lived there during the Russian-Chechen war.

The other day, promoter Eddie Hearn said that it was too early for Tszyu to go to Charlo. And the American will soon receive a mandatory challenger from the WBA: Madrimov and Soro will have a rematch on the undercard of the Chisora-Pulev 2 show.
