Former UFC middleweight title challenger Jared Cannonier wouldn’t mind taking part in the UFC 300 anniversary event and sharing the octagon with Hamzat Chimaev.
The American fighter revealed this in an interview with sports columnist James Lynch.
“They really want him to take the title and Hamzat really wants to be the champion,” Cannonier said. “By itself, I want to fight for the title too. So if I don’t get a title shot now, I’m definitely going to fight the next guy in line, and if it’s Hamzat Chimaev, let’s do it!”
Jared Cannonier and Khamzat Chimaev are currently ranked fourth and ninth in the UFC middleweight rankings, respectively.
Earlier, the Chechen fighter said he is ready to take part in the anniversary event of the world’s strongest league, which will be held on April 13 in Las Vegas.
