Tony Ferguson got a challenge from blogger Jake Paul

If former interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson is able to negotiate a contract release with the world’s strongest league, his next fight could secure him for the rest of his life.

According to popular boxing blogger Jake Paul, who picked up another victory in the professional ring this past weekend, he would like to see “El Cucuy” as his opponent in his debut MMA rules bout in the PFL league.

“I’ll fight anyone who can get out of his UFC contract,” the youtuber stated. “I want to do an MMA rules fight in the PFL – I just need the right opponent. Nate turned down my fifteen million dollar offer, so we’ll see who else gets fired from the UFC. Tony Ferguson? He’s been saying he wants to fight. I don’t want him to leave like that, losing to Pimblett – that would be sad. He’s a great guy and we don’t want that for Tony.”

Tony Ferguson last stepped into the octagon last December, losing by unanimous decision to British prospect Paddy Pimblett over three rounds. However, the 40-year-old veteran has made it clear that he has no plans to retire and will fight ‘until the wheels fall off’.

Jake Paul, 27, has nine wins as a professional boxer, including wins over notable fighters such as Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz.
