Tom Aspinall named the condition of the fight with Alex Pereira

Interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall wouldn’t mind sharing the octagon with current UFC light heavyweight titleholder Alex Pereira, but only if the Brazilian asks to fight him.

“If he wants to fight me at UFC 300, I’m up for it, but I want to go on record – I’m not some schlub, and I don’t go after guys smaller than me,” MMA Fighting quoted the Brit as saying. “But if a smaller guy wants to fight, you can count on me.”

Both fighters won their titles last November at UFC 295 in New York, where Tom Aspinall knocked out Russian Sergey Pavlovic in 69 seconds and Alex Pereira finished Czech Jiri Prohazka by technical knockout in the second round.

The Brit and Brazilian have since made mutual hints of a superfight, which, according to rumors, could take place on April 13 at UFC 300 in Las Vegas.

Alex Pereira and Tom Aspinall are currently ranked as the fifth and twelfth best fighters in the UFC regardless of weight class.
