Last weekend, the undisputed middleweight champion American Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs) and top contender Australian Tim Tszyu (21-0, 15 KOs) exchanged hairpins. First, the son of Konstantin Tszyu decided to criticize the solid performance of the American in the rematch with the Argentine Brian Castaño (17-1-2, 12 KOs), then he flared up in response.
Tszyu about Charlo’s reaction to his words: “Yes I saw. What can I say? Charlo is an evil and nasty little man. He just took all four division belts, won the most important fight, reached the highest point of his career. Enjoy the moment, but no. He sits there angry at the whole world, breaks down on reporters. It’s just how he is. Evil man. I have nothing more to say about this. Does this anger help him in life and in his career? I do not know”.
Tszyu is a contender for the WBO title, but not the only one. Charlo also has Bahram Murtazaliev from Russia from IBF and Sebastian Fundora from the USA from WBC.
The Aussie is ready to fight for all the belts, he doesn’t mind doing it on the territory of the American: “Fight him in Texas? Why not. You have to be smart to fight him. He sets traps, counters well. And he has a great arsenal of punches. That is, you need to box wisely and carefully. You can’t just throw it right at him. It has to be smart pressure.”
Earlier, Tszyu said about Charlo: “There is hatred between us. Fight or give the belt.” Castaño thinks Tim is not ready to fight Jermell. Meanwhile, “Infernal” Fundor noticed e-Charlo’s weak spot.
