“This is Usyk.” Joyce Marked Target #1

The newly minted “interim” WBO heavyweight champion Joe Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs) on a wave of noise after an early victory over Joseph Parker “realized that now people take me seriously.” According to the Briton, the priority for the next fight is WBO/WBA/IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs).

“This is Usyk,” Joyce replied.
BBC Sport when asked who he now wants to fight in the first place. “But if he is going to fight Fury, then I have other options. The name of Fury, Joshua, White was mentioned. Enough big names.”

Recall that Joyce lost to the Ukrainian in 2013 in the World Series of Boxing tournament.

“Then I was a beginner, and he was an Olympic champion. I gave him a great fight, it was competitive. I don’t think he will be able to get along with my activity, pace and punches all 12 rounds. But he is an experienced boxer and I want to fight him. If not next time, then after he fights Fury or whatever.”

I don’t know how Usyk can beat Joyce – promoter

“I like to participate in exciting fights. I didn’t have to fight Parker, but what a great fight we had! He solidified me as an elite fighter. I’m one step away from the title,” he said.

Joyce also believes that former world champion Anthony Joshua was lucky that Fury refused to fight him. Bellew talked about who could stop Joyce, but Usyk didn’t mention.
