Spaniard Sandor Martin (40-3, 13 KOs) did not agree with the decision of the judges following the results of his last fight against American Teofimo Lopez (18-1, 13 KOs), which became the main event of the boxing evening in New York (USA).

Recall that Lopez was knocked down, but still won a 10-round WBC contender’s fight by a split decision with a score of 94-95, 96-93 and 97-92.

Report from vRINGe: Lopez-Martin: Angels and Demons

“The judges, of course, surprised. I won the fight cleanly, – Martin is sure. – I won two rounds from one of the judges? Seriously? In fact, there were two knockdowns, one of which the referee did not record. Lopez missed with all his punches. It (was) a boxing masterclass. And it was a robbery. But well, that’s the way the sport is.”

“I controlled everything that happened in the ring. And Teofimo was too excited. In the eighth round, his corner told him, “Hey, come on already. You can lose this fight,” continues Sandor. “It’s not just about my broken nose. After all, I had three weeks to prepare. And his nose was broken after a head-on collision. But it didn’t bother me, even though I knew it would hurt every time he hit me. Only he didn’t hit me. How many times did he hit me? Three? Four maximum? And that brought him victory?
