Derrick James, the new coach of British ex-world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs), shared his expectations from working with the star boxer.

Recall that Joshua will return to the ring on April 1 in London in a duel against American Jermain Franklin. This will be his first appearance since two consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021-22.

“I’m looking forward to April 1 myself,” James said. – As for me, the world has not yet seen the best Anthony Joshua, especially the guy with whom I work in the gym. I think Anthony really wants to be the fighter he needs to be. And everything depends on him. From no one else. Everything rests on his heritage and the desire to improve it. On the other hand, we help him become better and show the best version of himself.”

“Three months that we have is not enough time, but it all depends on what level you work at. And we work at a high level, — said the coach. “He is a very smart fighter and he can do it. He accepts and understands everything I ask him to do.”

Meanwhile, Mike Tyson has revealed how Joshua can return to his former glory.
