The UFC has named a timeframe for the fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocicic

The heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic will take place this summer, and the division’s interim champion, Tom Aspinall, will make a title defense by the time the Americans share the octagon.

This was revealed by the head of the world’s strongest league, Dana White, in an interview with Sportsnet Canada.

“Jon Jones is recovering, looks good – his fight with Stipe Miocic will take place in the summer,” said the head of the organization. “Tom Aspinall is ready to go and raring to fight. He will step into the octagon before the Jones-Miocic fight and will fight anyone. He is ready to prove he is the best heavyweight in the world.”

Earlier Jon Jones, who is recovering from pectoral muscle and elbow surgeries, made it clear that he is not interested in a unification fight with Tom Aspinall and that he may end his professional career after the fight with Stipe Miocic.

The British heavyweight revealed in a recent interview that he would be willing to compete at UFC 300 and share the octagon with current UFC bantamweight champion Alex Pereira if the Brazilian expresses interest in a fight.
