The UFC 298 tournament has lost one fight

The lineup for this weekend’s UFC 298 tournament is down to twelve fights with the loss of a preliminary card matchup.

Representatives of the world’s strongest league officially announced that American middleweight A.J. Dobson will leave the card of the numbered event following his injured compatriot Treshin Gore. The organization’s matchmakers made the decision to cancel the bout rather than seek a replacement on short notice.

It should be noted that this isn’t the first time the UFC 298 tournament has lost a fight – previously, the bout between Amanda Lemos and Tatiana Suarez was scrapped, and the clash between Marcin Tybura and Ty Tuivasa headlining UFC Fight Night 239 was postponed.

As a reminder, UFC 298 will take place on February 17 in Anaheim, and its main event will be a featherweight title fight between the division’s reigning champion, Alexander Volkanovski, and third-ranked Elijah Topuria.
