The third fight between Mineyev and Ismailov has been officially announced

The third fight between Vladimir Mineev and Magomed Ismailov, which the Russian fighters will hold under the rules of professional boxing, will take place on July 20 in Moscow, as officially announced by the organizers of the event.

The formula of the fight is eight rounds of three minutes, however, the weight category of the match is not specified.

“Somehow I quietly and cleanly between us told you my plan – I beat him by boxing and then wait in the cage by MMA. Remember. Good news, folks – he’s taking the bait! Let’s get some popcorn,” Ismailov commented on the news.

Earlier, the Russians met twice in the Fight Nights cage, drawing the first fight, and in the second fight Mineyev successfully defended his middleweight championship belt, finishing Ismailov by technical knockout in the third round.

In a recent interview, Vladimir Mineev called his return to mixed martial arts highly unlikely, and also said that he plans to end his career as a fighter by the end of the year.

The 34-year-old Vladimir Mineev last fought at the end of last month, defeating Konstantin Glukhov by unanimous decision in a kickboxing rules bout.

Magomed Ismailov, 37, was scheduled to fight Anatoly Tokov under MMA rules in March, but was injured and dropped out of the ACA 172 tournament. According to the league’s plans, Ismailov and Tokov’s bout will take place before the end of this year.
