Next month, former Bellator middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko will attempt to rematch one of the most crushing defeats of his career.
The RCC League officially announced that the fight between the Russian and Serbian Alexander Ilic will be the main event of the RCC 17 tournament, which will take place on December 15 in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
The first fight between “Storm” and “The Joker” took place in August 2022 at the RCC 12 tournament and ended as early as 22 seconds into the fight with Shlemenko losing by technical knockout.
After that, the Russian fighter had three bouts in MMA, drawing a fight with Kleber Souza, losing by unanimous decision to Magomed Ismailov, and finishing Alex Oliveira by guillotine choke, as well as defeating Swiss Yasubei Enomoto by unanimous decision in a kickboxing rules match.
Alexander Ilic, after defeating Storm, lost by unanimous decision to Magomed Ismailov in a boxing rules bout, and also added another win to his MMA record with a split decision win over Poland’s Marcin Naruzka.
In the second most important event of the RCC 17 tournament, Russian heavyweight Alexey Oleinik will return to the cage and his opponent will be announced soon.
