The rematch between Yair Rodriguez and Brian Ortega has been officially announced

A five-round featherweight bout between Yair Rodriguez and Brian Ortega will be the second main event of UFC Fight Night 237, which takes place Feb. 24 in Mexico City.

The fight was officially announced by UFC CEO, Dana White.

Fight top welterweights will be a rematch – in July last year Ortega already in the first round suffered a shoulder injury and refused to continue the fight with the Mexican, losing by technical knockout. After that, the American did not return to the octagon, and Rodriguez won the interim championship belt in a confrontation with Josh Emmett, and then in the unification fight lost to Alexander Volkanovski by technical knockout in the third round.

Yair Rodriguez and Brian Ortega are currently ranked second and third in the UFC’s featherweight division rankings, respectively.

The main event of UFC Fight Night 237 will be a featherweight title challenger fight between Brandon Moreno and Amir Albazi.
