The reason for canceling the fight between Dustin Porier and Benoit Saint-Denis has become known

The lightweight bout between Dustin Puryear and Benoit Saint-Denis, which was supposed to be the second main event of UFC 299, has been canceled because “The Diamond” was unable to come to an agreement with the organization.

This was reported by prominent sports columnist Brett Okamoto, citing the American fighter.

“Dustin Porier explained his announcement that his fight with St. Denis at UFC 299 has been canceled in a text message, ‘ No agreement was made prior to the fight being announced and we were unable to come to an agreement,'” the reporter wrote on social media.

“Diamond” had previously informed his fans that the upcoming fight had been canceled but did not provide any clarification on the situation, and Saint-Denis said he still plans to compete in the numbered event.

As a reminder, UFC 299 will take place on March 9 in Miami, and its main event will be a flyweight title fight between Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera.
