“It happened that Jiri dislocated his shoulder, some guys in the hall tried to straighten him, and broke his shoulder completely, they just destroyed him,” the head of the organization said in an interview with Paddy Pimblett. “I tell you, I tell him, I tell all the fighters – if something happens to you, just jump in the damn car and go to the hospital. We will pay you everything. Don’t even think that some guys in the gym can straighten your shoulder, don’t risk it. Just go to the hospital”
White also confirmed the challenger status of Glover Teixeira, who will face the winner of the title fight between Magomed Ankalaev and Jan Blachowicz.
“Yes, this is also a tough fight, but Jiri will still look like a champion. He didn’t lose the title, he vacated it. The guys will fight for the title and I think we will see two title fights before Jiri can come back from shoulder surgery. Glover will fight the winner. He was offered a fight, but he did not want to accept it, so the second will be Glover’s fight with the winner.
Recall that the fight for the vacant UFC light heavyweight championship belt between Mgomed Ankalaev and Jan Blachowicz will be the main event of the UFC 282 tournament, which will be held on December 10 in Las Vegas.
