The owner of AMC Fight Nights advised Shlemenko not to move to the UFC: “This is a step back”

The owner of AMC Fight Nights, Amir Muradov, in an interview with SE, advised the former Bellator middleweight champion, Russian Alexander Shlemenko, not to move to the UFC in case of a victory over Magomed Ismailov.

“Shlemenko himself will probably be interested in fighting Vladimir Mineev in the event of a victory over Magomed Ismailov,” Muradov told SE. “I think that such fighters should not go to the UFC at all when they have such high-profile fights in Russia.”

“I don’t want to say anything [так как] Shlemenko still has gunpowder in his flasks, and he can try himself in the UFC, but for him, it seems to me, this is a step back financially and in everything else. He has on the horizon someone to fight in Russia and earn big money. All organizations will be happy to see him.”

At the end of March, Shlemenko should fight for the EFC middleweight title, meeting with the current champion Faridun Odilov, and in the summer fight in the RCC promotion with Magomed Ismailov.
