Olympic medalist, 2012 ESPN Prospect of the Yearretired British heavyweight David Price shared his opinion about the second confrontation between the current and former holders of the WBA Super, IBF and WBO titles in the same weight – Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) from Ukraine and Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs ) from the UK.

Price was asked what he would advise a compatriot on the eve of the second fight.

Healthy man’s answer: “Above all, Joshua must avoid trying to outbox a great boxing master. If Anthony succeeds in pushing Usyk, driving him to the ropes, then he will have a chance. Therefore, my advice will be extremely simple: smart pressing at the expense of the front leg. You need to use absolutely all methods to gain an advantage. Do not disdain even a dirty fight with an attempt to cut an opponent. Absolutely everything is useful. After all, to beat Usyk, you need a lot more than usual.

Price explains why Joshua’s task is so difficult: “What is required of him (fans and experts)? Get closer, give free rein to the fists, aggression. But in this case, he will be even more vulnerable to the counterattacks of the Ukrainian. He already felt the power of Usyk’s fists. And if he rushes towards, then these missed blows will be even more sensitive – in this case, the force of the blow simply doubles. I admit that it was for this reason that he was so cautious in the first battle. He already missed the start.”

Price with his final verdict: “I think Usyk will knock him out in the later rounds. He was close to that in the first fight as well.”

The first duel between Usyk and Joshua took place last fall in Britain – the Ukrainian won by decision of the judges, and the loser decided to take advantage of the revenge clause prescribed in the contract. The second fight will take place on August 20 in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

Yesterday, Usyk and Joshua met at a press conference. The Ukrainian sang the song “Oh at the moon of red viburnum.” Of course, there was also the traditional battle of views: watch the video and appreciate the Ukrainian image of Alexander.
