A flyweight bout between Song Yadong and Chris Gutierrez will headline the main event of UFC Fight Night 233, which takes place Dec. 9 in Shanghai, China.
The organization of the fight was officially confirmed by representatives of the world’s strongest league.
Both fighters have put their careers back on track in previous matches. The Chinese-born fighter finished Ricky Simon by TKO in the fifth round in April to close out his loss to Corey Sandhagen, which he was prevented from finishing by a doctor due to a severe dissection, while the American won a unanimous decision over Haley Alateng in October after a unanimous decision loss to Pedro Munoz.
Song Yadong and Chris Gutierrez are currently ranked seventh and fourteenth in the UFC’s lightweight division rankings, respectively.
