Russian welterweight Muslim Salikhov, who lost a first-round knockout to Jamaican-born Randy Brown last weekend, is not going to end his professional fighting career.
“The way of the warrior is the way of victories and defeats! There’s no other way,” the “King of Kung Fu” wrote on social media. “To all those who say it’s time for me to quit, I want to say that no one but me will take care of my family and my sick son”
“So my friends, thank you for the advice, but I’m going to keep doing what I know how to do. I want to thank the UFC, Sean Shelby and Ali Abdelaziz for the opportunity to perform and earn at the highest level.”
Muslim Salikhov has been competing in the world’s strongest league since 2017 and has had ten fights under the organization’s banner during that time, with six wins and four losses. The 39-year-old Russian has just one win in his last four matches, finishing Andre Fiallo by technical knockout in November 2022. Salikhov stepped into the octagon just once last year, losing by unanimous decision to Nicholas Dalby.
