Today it became known that 25-year-old American super middleweight (up to 76.2 kg) Edgar Berlanga (20-0, 16 KOs) has finally decided with which of the top promoters he will continue his career after he previously parted ways with Bob Arum’s Top Rank.

Recall that Berlanga had offers from Macromm Boxing Eddie Hearn, Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya and Premier Boxing Champions Al Haymon.

The boxer opted for Matchroom and, accordingly, in the future his performances will be on the DAZN streaming network.

“Excited to start my new journey with the best promoter in the world, the legendary Eddie Hearn,” says Berlanga. “I want to build my legacy in the sport, I need big fights and I know signing with Matchroom was the right choice to get me where I want to be. My main goal is to fight Canelo and restart the greatest fight in boxing: Mexico vs Puerto Rico.”

In turn, Hearn stated with satisfaction that he was “delighted to win the race for Edgar’s autograph” and that Berlanga would be “laid the route to the duel with Canelo.”

Apparently, it was this argument that became decisive in choosing a boxer.

A week ago, Berlanga told how he would get to Alvarez or Munguia.
