The fight community’s reaction to Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou fight

Members of the fight community have shared their reaction to the boxing match between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury, in which the reigning world boxing champion won a controversial split decision victory after being knocked out in the third round.

Israel Adesanya: “Against all odds came out and had a close fight with the greatest heavyweight in boxing. My brother, you rocked the world!”

Daniel Cormier: “76-75 Fury after the eighth round, but Francis won the last two.”

Ariel Helwani: “Bullshit, Francis won that fight. I don’t care what anyone else says. He’s the people’s champion! I know styles make fights, but this Francis will beat Wilder, Chisora, Whyte, and anyone else the smug boxing public suggested he should be the opponent instead of Fury”

Mike Tyson: “The real champion of the evening is Francis Ngannou! I’m so proud of your performance!”

Alex Pereira: “Proud on behalf of all MMA fighters! Great job, Francis Ngannou!”

Demetrious Johnson: “Francis won this fight.”

Jan Blachowicz: “MMA is the king of all sports”

Nolan King: “Even if Francis Ngannou loses, it’s going to be one of the most incredible performances I’ve seen in martial arts given the circumstances. It’s just crazy.”

Oscar Willis: “Roberto Duran just told me that in his opinion, Tyson Fury lost. Do what you want with that.”

Gilbert Burns: “Come on, Francis won that fight!”

Anthony Pettis: “A win for MMA tonight. Congratulations to Francis Ngannou.”

Ben Askren: “It seems like boxing has just as bad referees.”

AJ McKee: “But MMA fighters can’t box properly, right? Congratulations to Francis Ngann – he showed a hell of a fight.”

Aljamain Sterling: “It was impressive and an argument can be made that Francis won this fight. Conor paved the way and Francis opened the door wide. It’s proof that with the right training, MMA guys can compete on equal footing with the best boxers”

Nate Diaz: “Tyson Fury lost and the commentators in boxing are biased dumbasses. They need to learn how to box.”

Nassurdin Imavov: “It’s a disgrace! Ngannou won this fight!”

Darren Till: “96-93? That judge must have been Dana White or John Fury.”

Chris Eubank: “Watching the fight from ringside, I thought Ngannou won this fight. It was close, he was the aggressor, threw the heavier punches and had a knockdown to his credit. Fury deserved the defeat after having so many problems with a man who has never boxed. He was spending too much time filming for Netflix”

Max Holloway: “He almost made it! Never doubt this man again. Francis Ngannou, what a beast!”

Manny Pacquiao: “What a fight we just saw!”

Lennox Lewis: “Looking at it, I thought Fury didn’t have a full training camp. That was definitely not the Fury that beat Wilder. A lion can’t let a shark walk into the jungle and almost beat him. Ngannou’s stock just went up and Fury’s stock went down.”

Recall that at the end of ten rounds of the fight, held the day before in Riyadh, the judges with the score 96-93, 95-94 and 94-95 gave the victory to the British boxer, and thus saved his fight against the Ukrainian Alexander Usik, which will be held on December 23 and will determine the absolute world champion in heavyweight boxing.
