The fight between Shavkat Rakhmonov and Kelvin Gastelum is officially announced

The welterweight fight between Shavkat Rakhmonov and Kelvin Gastelum will be the second most important event of the UFC tournament, which will be held on September 16 in Las Vegas.

UFC President Dana White officially confirmed the organization of the fight, which the fighters had previously agreed on social networks.

Kelvin Gastelum, 31, fought his last welterweight fight in July 2016, defeating Johny Hendrix via unanimous decision. In April of this year, the American returned to a successful career after two defeats, winning a unanimous decision from Chris Curtis, and currently continues to occupy the twelfth line in the UFC middle division rankings.

No. 6 welterweight Shavkat Rakhmonov won his fifth stoppage victory in the UFC in March, finishing with a third-round choke of Jeff Neal. The 28-year-old representative of Kazakhstan does not know defeat and, as a professional, goes on an impressive series of seventeen early victories.

Recall that the main event of the event, which will take place on Mexico’s Independence Day, will be the women’s flyweight title rematch between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko.
