The fight between Magomed Ismailov and Anatoly Tokov has been canceled

The long-awaited rematch between Magomed Ismailov and Anatoly Tokov, which was supposed to take place this weekend at the ACA 172 tournament in Moscow, has been canceled due to an injury to “The Bald Predator”.

This was officially announced by the head of the league Mairbek Khasiev.

“We are forced to postpone the fight between Magomed Ismailov and Anatoly Tokov, scheduled for March 9, because of the injury that Magomed Ismailov suffered on the eve of the fight. And we will do everything in our power to hold this fight this year,” reads Khasivev’s statement posted on the organization’s social media.

The first fight between the Russian middleweights took place nearly eleven years ago under the M-1 Global banner and ended with Tokov winning by kimura in the first round.

Last year, 34-year-old Anatoly Tokov made a failed attempt to take the Bellator middleweight championship belt from Johnny Eblin, losing to the American by unanimous decision over five rounds, while 37-year-old Magomed Ismailov had his last fight under mixed martial arts rules in December 2022, winning by unanimous decision over Alexander Shlemenko.
