A bantamweight fight between Ion Kucelaba and Filipe Lins has been added to the card for UFC 299, which takes place March 9 in Miami.
Informed sources close to the situation reported on the organization of the bout.
The welterweights were supposed to share the octagon last October at UFC Fight Night 229 in Las Vegas, but the fight was canceled at the last minute due to the Brazilian’s indisposition.
Ion Kucelaba, 30, got his career back on track last April after three straight losses, finishing Tanner Boeser by first-round technical knockout.
Filipe Lins, 38, is riding a three-fight win streak, winning a unanimous decision over Russian Maxim Grishin in his last fight.
Neither fighter is currently ranked in the top 15 of the UFC’s bantamweight division.
