The favorite in the main fight of the UFC 300 tournament has been named

Reigning UFC bantamweight titleholder Alex Pereira, who will share the octagon with former division champion Jamal Hill on April 13 at UFC 300 in Las Vegas, is the favorite to make the first defense of his belt.

Currently, the odds for Pereira to win are 1.69 (59.18% probability), while Hill’s success is priced at 2.25 (44.44% probability).

Bookmakers released the starting odds shortly after the main event fight was officially announced by UFC head honcho Dana White.

Jamal Hill, 32, won the vacant UFC bantamweight championship belt early last year by defeating Glover Teixeira by unanimous decision, but the American was forced to vacate the title as early as July after tearing his Achilles tendon while playing basketball.

Last April, Alex Pereira lost the UFC middleweight championship belt after losing by second-round knockout to Israel Adesanya in an immediate rematch. The 36-year-old Brazilian then moved up to the welterweight division, defeating Jan Blachowicz by split decision in a challenger’s bout, and in November, Pereira won the vacant title by finishing Jiri Prohazka by second-round TKO.

Currently, Jamal Hill continues to hold the No. 1 ranking in the UFC’s welterweight division.
