The favorite in the fight between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad has been named

Reigning UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards will go into his title defense as the clear favorite against Belal Muhammad, the division’s number two ranked fighter.

Currently, the odds on the Brit to win are 1.444 (69.23% probability), while the American’s success is rated at 2.9 (34.48% probability).

Bookmakers released the starting odds shortly after the head of the organization, Dana White, officially announced that the title fight between Edwards and Muhammad will be the main event of UFC 304, which will take place on July 27 in Manchester.

The welterweight fight will be a rematch – three years ago their clash was ruled a no contest after the American failed to continue in the second round after getting his finger poked in the eye.

Leon Edwards, 32, successfully defended his championship belt in December, defeating Colby Covington by unanimous decision at UFC 296 in Las Vegas.

Belal Muhammad, 35, earned his fifth straight victory last May, winning a unanimous decision over Gilbert Burns.
