The favorite in the fight between Francis Ngannou and Anthony Joshua has been named

Former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, will come out as the favorite to fight former UFC titleholder, Francis Ngannou, in two months, but not as big as one might expect.

Currently, the odds on the Brit to win are 1.645 (60.78% probability), while the Cameroonian’s success is priced at 2.25 odds (44.44% probability).

Bookmakers released the starting odds shortly after the ten-round boxing match was officially announced by the Saudi Arabian organizers.

On March 9 in Riyadh, Anthony Joshua was supposed to share the ring with American Deontay Wilder, but two weeks ago, “The Bronze Bomber” suffered an unexpected defeat to New Zealand’s Joseph Parker, and as a result, the fight with the Brit lost its relevance.

Anthony Joshua gave Otto Wallin an exhibition beating on the same day, forcing the Swede’s corner to abandon the fight after the fifth round.

Francis Ngannou, who left the UFC as a free agent a year ago, made his professional boxing debut in October, losing a split decision to Tyson Fury after ten competitive rounds, with the reigning world boxing champion being knocked out in the third round. After that, the World Boxing Council decided to include “The Predator” in the official WBC ranking, putting him on the tenth line of the heavyweight division.

Theoretically, the winner of this fight will be the main candidate to fight the absolute heavyweight boxing champion of the world, which will be determined on February 17 in the fight between Tyson Fury and Alexander Usik.
