The Dustin Porier and Benoit St. Denis fight is back on track

The lightweight fight between Dustin Porier and Benoit Saint-Denis, which was reported canceled by the American, remains part of the UFC 299 event.

According to “The Diamond”, the reason for his previous statement was a misunderstanding with his manager, who did not notify him of the agreement.

“Sorry guys, I was rushed,” Porier wrote on social media. “I have been unable to contact my manager for a few days and have only now spoken to him and Hunter Campbell. It was a miscommunication on my part. The fight is on! See you on March 9 in Miami!”

Earlier, the American fighter informed fans that his fight with the Frenchman, announced as the second most important event of the numbered event, was canceled due to the fact that he was unable to negotiate the terms of the agreement with the organization.

Dustin Porier, 35, last stepped into the octagon last July, losing by second-round knockout to Justin Gaethje in a contender’s bout.

Benoit St. Denis, 28, is riding a streak of five early wins in the UFC, knocking out Matt Frevola in his last fight as early as the first round.

Dustin Porier and Benoit Saint-Denis are currently ranked third and eleventh in the UFC lightweight rankings, respectively.
