The holder of the secondary WBA World lightweight belt, American puncher Gervonta Davis (26-0, 24 KOs), at least verbally aims at a fight with the winner of the fight between compatriot Devin Haney (27-0, 15 KOs) and Australian George Kambosos Jr. (20 -0, 10 KOs) – June 5 in Melbourne (Australia) these two will determine the absolute in the division.

“What do I think of Haney? He’s a mail champ
reminds Davis that the American took his belt without a fight. “He’s only fighting Kambosos because someone emailed him the belt. But this is boxing. Such stories are neither the first nor the last.”

Davis also has a fight coming up shortly this weekend against mandatory challenger compatriot Rolando Romero. The fighter confirmed during an interview that after this fight he would leave Mayweather Promotions: “Haney said a lot of bullshit. But don’t forget that my contract is ending. Do you want to be responsible for your market? Let’s! Let’s go! If you beat Kambosos, then I am ready to fight with you!”

Davis is not sure who is the favorite in the upcoming fight: “I don’t know who will win – Kambosos or Haney. Generally no idea. I only know that the winner must then face me. After all, you can see for yourself that Devin now and then mows down for me. He even tries to imitate me in interviews. He keeps barking and barking. But really just wants to be me.”

On his upcoming fight with Romero: “Let him goof off… I don’t know what he’s talking about. Where did he get that I’m trying to avoid a fight? Or that I’m nervous? What is it expressed in? Am I afraid of him? Damn, there would be someone to be afraid of. He’s not a fighter at all, but a miserable clown. There is nothing personal between us. Regular fight. Did you see that I lost my temper and wanted to knock him on the melon even before the gong? I’m just chilling, just chasing a bullshit … “

The conqueror of two weight divisions and boxing expert Timothy Bradley shared his prediction for the Davis vs Romero fight: “He will take it out.” The prospect, which repeatedly dropped Lopez, thinks completely differently: “I’ll bet on Romero, and not on Davis.”
