Taila Santos has been fired from the UFC

Former contender for the UFC featherweight championship belt, Taila Santos, is no longer a fighter in the world’s strongest league.

The dismissal of the 30-year-old Brazilian, who had seven fights under the UFC banner since 2019 and was ranked fourth in the division, was reported by informed sources close to the situation. The reason for the dismissal was not reported, but Santos had a few more fights left on her existing agreement with the organization.

Last June, Taila Santos was on a four-fight win streak heading into a title fight against Valentina Shevchenko, and gave a competitive fight to “Pula,” losing to the then-reigning UFC champion by split decision.

This past August, the Brazilian failed to get her career back on track, losing by unanimous decision to Erin Blanchfield after three rounds.
