Tai Tuivasa reveals plan for fight with Alexander Volkov

No. 6 ranked UFC heavyweight Ty Tuivasa has no plans to take his bout with Alexander Volkov to a judges’ decision, and hopes the Russian will take an open fight and not try to tie him up in the clinch or in the parterre.

“I think he’s a great opponent and it’s going to be a great fight,” said the Australian, speaking to reporters in Sydney. “Obviously everyone knows how big he is and I don’t think he can cope with me going after him and coming forward.”

“In the last two fights I’ve been too cautious – this time I’m announcing a head hunt. We’re in for a great fight. I hope it won’t be boring and we won’t play bloody hugging for all fifteen minutes.”

As a reminder, the heavyweight fight between Ty Tuivasa and Alexander Volkov will be the second main event of UFC 293, which takes place on September 9 in Sydney.
