Russian fighter Tagir Ulanbekov will have his next fight on December 16 at UFC 296 in Las Vegas, and his opponent will be American Cody Durden.
The bantamweight fight was officially announced by representatives of the world’s strongest league.
Last November, 32-year-old Tagir Ulanbekov put his career back on track with a first-round guillotine choke finish of Nate Maniss. Prior to that, the Russian suffered his first loss in the organization, losing by unanimous decision to Tim Elliott.
Cody Durden, 32, is riding a four-fight win streak in the UFC, winning a unanimous decision over Jake Hadley in his last fight. In this matchup, Durden replaced Ulanbekov on short notice, who dropped out of the UFC on ESPN 50 event for an undisclosed reason.
Tagir Ulanbekov is currently ranked thirteenth in the UFC’s flyweight rankings, while Cody Durden is not yet a top-15 fighter in the division.
