Former UFC heavyweight champion, Stipe Miocic, is looking forward to the fight between Jon Jones and Cyril Gun, and is preparing to face the winner of this confrontation in July of this year at the traditional International Fight Week in Las Vegas.
“I was told so, I hope so,” Miocic said at a press conference last Friday. “It is clear that the issue cannot be considered resolved until the contract is signed, so we will see how everything goes”
At the same time, Miocic evaded answering the question of who he expects to see as the new UFC heavyweight champion.
“I thought that I would fight in this fight, but, unfortunately, it didn’t work out. John is back, everyone wants to see him, and Cyril is a cool dude. It’s going to be a hell of a fight and whoever wins, I’m going to kick his ass – that’s my approach.”
Recall that the fight for the vacant UFC heavyweight championship belt between Jon Jones and Cyril Gan will be the main event of the UFC 285 tournament, which will be held on Saturday night into Sunday in Las Vegas.
