The welterweight fight between Stephen Thompson and Michel Pereira, which was supposed to take place on June 10 at UFC 289 in Vancouver, has left the numbered event card.
Informed sources say no contracts have been signed for the fight and it has now been postponed until July.
Steven Thompson, 40, got his career back on track last December with a TKO win over Kevin Holland, whom the corner missed out on in the fifth round. Before that, Wonderboy suffered two losses in a row, losing decisions to Gilbert Burns and Belal Muhammad.
Michel Pereira, 29, is on a five-fight streak, winning a split decision over Santiago Ponzinibbio in his last bout.
Currently, Stephen Thompson and Michel Pereira are ranked seventh and fourteenth in the UFC welterweight division, respectively.
Earlier it became known that Irene Aldana will replace the injured Julianna Peña and will meet with Amanda Nunes in the main event of the UFC 289 tournament.
