UFC on ABC 2 co-main event
On Saturday night, April 10, the penultimate UFC Apex tournament will take place at the mini-arena in Las Vegas (USA) before the promotion returns viewers to the stands. This coming weekend, MMA fans can expect a relatively modest UFC on ABC 2 (UFC Vegas 23) tournament, in the main event of which we will see an intriguing fight between strong middleweights.
The co-main event will feature UFC featherweight neighbors #10 Arnold Allen and #11 Sodik Yusuff.
Allen suffered his only loss outside the UFC, where he has been performing since 2015. The Briton is on a streak of nine victories, of which the last two performances stand out in particular. In 2019, he recorded his biggest win so far, winning a unanimous decision over former Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez, after which the veteran left the UFC and has not fought since. And in January 2020, Allen completed his fight against Nick Lentz with the same outcome.
Yusuff also lost once in his career and also before moving to the UFC. The Nigerian native holds a No. 1 4-0 record in the promotion, and he too hasn’t competed since last January, when Andre Fili won on the judges’ notes.
Prediction for the fight
Here we are dealing with two drummers. The Nigerian relies more on his boxing ability while Allen relies more on his kickboxing. The fight can turn out to be very equal, but we will still give preference to an athlete from Foggy Albion. Allen is more savvy in grappling and can convince the judges to give him the victory due to the ground floor, as well as activity in clinches.
Considering that both of them take a punch well and don’t often win by knockout lately, this fight will probably last the full 15 minutes.
Allen win on points
The fight between Sodik Yusuf and Arnold Allen will take place on the night of Saturday to Sunday, April 11. Estimated start time of the battle is 00:00 Kyiv time.
